How to use
Choose a text type (Latin or one of the language-specific dummy text lists), a unit (paragraphs, sentences or words), and a count, and this tool generates the text in the result box. It updates whenever you change a setting, and the “Regenerate” button creates a fresh random text with the same settings. Use the copy button to copy the result directly.
What is Lorem Ipsum
Lorem Ipsum is a scrambled passage from a work by the Roman philosopher Cicero, rearranged so it no longer reads as real, meaningful Latin. The printing and publishing industry has used it for centuries as placeholder text to preview font size, line spacing and layout before the real copy is ready, and it’s still used the same way in web and app design mockups today. Alongside the classic Latin Lorem Ipsum, this tool can also generate text from original dummy text lists written for Korean, Japanese, German, Spanish and English.
Why language-specific dummy text matters
Placeholder text made only of Latin letters can’t show what a layout actually looks like once it holds Korean or Japanese characters. Japanese text, for example, wraps at any character with no spaces between words at all, and each Korean syllable takes up more horizontal space than a single Latin letter, so the same character count can end up with a very different width. Testing a button or card with only Latin Lorem Ipsum can hide problems that only appear once real Korean or Japanese text is truncated or wraps oddly. Filling a design with dummy text in the language it will actually use is the reliable way to catch that early.
Reusing the same result with a seed
Enter a value in the seed field and the same seed with the same settings will always generate the same text. Leave it empty and you’ll get different random text every time. This is useful when you need the same filler text every time you reopen a mockup, or when you want to share just the seed value with a teammate so they can generate an identical result.
Privacy
This tool generates text in your browser using only the values you enter (text type, count, seed). Nothing is sent to a server or saved anywhere, and the result disappears when you close the page.
